ABOUT KEVIN
Fiction is real. We weave it seamlessly into our lives and use it to piece together our own reality. Kevin’s own love for fantasy began with a fear for the evil lurking in the shadows and it was through fiction that he overcame that fear. He wants to take others on adventures through my worlds and characters and be a catalyst for others to take the leap and face the monsters lurking in the shadows and experience what lies on the other side of danger.
Kevin turned off his reading light and stuffed the book onto the shelf by his bed. He got under the covers and lay there, looking at the ceiling. He wasn't alone. In the darkness, a dark hooded figure rose from the pages of the novel and loomed over the eleven-year-old. The silvery blood of unicorns oozed out of the man's mouth.
The horrors of the forest loomed in the deep shadows of the night. It's just a book, Kevin told himself, but he couldn’t lie to himself. He'd invited evil incarnate into his mind.
He shouldn't have read that book. And he wouldn't read anymore. He would leave it behind and hope the evil went with it.
Sleep came and with it the nightmares.
And morning came and that book lay waiting for him, next to his head. In the daylight, it didn't look so bad. A boy wizard flying around on a broom. But no, he couldn't endure more nights like that. It was better to forget.
But he couldn't. He couldn't forget that he was not the only one who had faced a murderer in the forest. Harry had too. And what? Was Kevin just going to let the evil wizard win? That's what would happen if he didn't finish the book. The darkness would win. The wizard would enter his mind and taunt him just like the witch under his bed already did.
No, this time he would confront the danger and find out what awaited him on the other side.
This time HE would go on the adventure.
